Need help for a newbie for developing Acros, Agfa and Ilford in HC 110

Hi friends,

I am about to start developing on my own for the first time. The following films in 120 will be developed in HC 110 :-

1. Acros 100
2. Agfa APX 25
3. Ilford Delta 100
4. Ilford Pan 50.

Since I am abosultely new, I was looking for an advice as a starting guideline while i start developing the above films in HC 110.

Which dilution to use, agitation details for each and development times?

Most of the films are landscapes and I am looking for a low contrast , midtoned negetive as I would work in a scanner and hence do not want much of contrasty negatives.

Can you guys please help me with the information?
 
ACROS- 1:50, 20C, 7min, first minute, 10 sec/min

Delta100- 1:50, 20C, 12min, first min, 10 sec/min

These are for scanning on an Epson v700 with Vuescan.

Are you sure you mean HC-110 and not Rodinal?
in any case - I would recommend a higher dilution (less concentrated) than B for Acros, like HC-110H. The listed times for Actros tend to be a tad short for consistent results with HC-110B.
 
I strongly recommend going to the manufacturer for your starting times. HC-110 is one of the most popular developers out there, and every manufacturer will list times for it with their film. The Massive Dev Chart is great for trying something new or something not covered in the manufacturer's data sheets, but it is essentially wikipedia for film developing, i.e. entered by users. That is why you might see 3 different times for the same film/dev combo.

Ilford has great documentation. I have never used Fuji or Agfa black and white films, so I'm not sure about theirs. The manufacturers have put a lot of time and money into their documentation, and I think starting with what they recommend is the best option.

I've been experimenting for a while now with HC110 1+49 dilution straight from the syrup for everything. Seems roughly 8 minutes and low agitation works for just about everything I've thrown at it.

The slow films may need change in time but it seems to me that HC110 builds highlight contrast via agitation faster than D76 does.
 
Used mostlly HC110 (H) when i used HC110, for most part with neopan 400 and acros 100. Ilford films you listed is not something i used, but FP4+ was great with Stand-dev on HC110, 5ml/film and 90', they looked great. Now i use Xtol or Rodinal for Acros when i have it.
