Need help with Leningrad light meter

I am interested in hearing from anyone who has a knowledge of FSU cameras and gear, more particularly the Leningrad 7 light meter. I have ordered one for use with my newly acquired FED 2 (D6) and Zorki-4, and have been reading up on this rather "quirky" meter, but am just not clearly understanding how it operates.

If anyone can walk me through this I would be eternally grateful! I am looking for an English translation of the user manual, but I keep coming up against dead links. Does anyone have an English copy of this manual that they are willing to share?

Uh, did you try google? Took me 10 seconds to find this (link to translated manual on the bottom of the page). It's a selenium apparently, so useless for low light.

Uh, yes I did try Google. And it took me LESS than 10 seconds to find that page. Sheesh! BTW, the link to the translated manual does not work... as I said in my last post! There is no need to be arrogant; I simply asked for some help.

Thanks Joao. Yes, I found that page, which makes things a bit confusing. I do have the manual for the "4", but I think it is quite different from the "7". Thanks anyway; much appreciated. The arrogant fellow who posted before you chose to go out of his way to make me look like I have no right to be posting here. I think we all much prefer your helpful and kind posts.

When you get to that page, click on the highlighted February 14 date and the choice to save the "Leningrad7 zip" file comes up. Download, scan for virus, etc and you should be good to go.

I haven't used the Leningrad meter but it seems fairly straight forward; what are you having trouble with?

Hi, I have a Lenigrad light meter, it has three ranges, for use with different levels of light, it is a fairly simple device each level simply moves the sensor closer to the window at the front and moves a different set of settings in the main window to suit light levels. As was pointed out not really suitable to very low light levels but adequate for general use, I have found that if you put a white aerosol top over the sensor it makes a passable incident meter!! Hope this helps, if you play about with the scales you will soon get the idea of how to use it.

On having a look on google I think mine is the Leningrad 4. The basic operation is the same different scales for different light levels.
