Need recommendations for B&W printing with my printer.

I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 printer. Are there special ink sets for BW printing, or will the regular black ink and colored inks do the job? Thank you to all who reply.

That's a YCM and black ink (4 cartrages) printer.... those are kind of rock bottom I hate to say. You'll tend to get color casts when doing B&W too.

Like filmtwit says you will be entering a world of frustration trying to print BW on a 4 ink printer.

You would probably be better off getting a printer that has a dedicated black and white mode which restricts the inks used to mainly just black and greys. This helps to avoid the colour cast issues.
