Hello.

My girlfriend has an Oly35RC, but it's not no working (apertures stuck) and getting it repaired is going to take time. I'm looking to buy her something similar, like a Rollei B35 (although I heard these are very plastic and the gearing strips easily) but I am not too familiar with what is available.

Basically, she wants something small like the B35, maybe a tad bigger but not SP35 size, with a light meter.

Any suggestions?

A.

How 'bout a Vivitar 35 ES? Really nice l'il bugger, good meter, good lens. Pretty cheap, too!

Regards!

Rollei 35XF. Aperture priority semi-auto.

Nice f2.3–16 sonnar 40mm lens. Rangefinder can get out of adjustment easily but it is also easy to fix.

Might happen to have one lying around.......

I certainly can't argue with Nick's suggestion -- the Konica Auto S3 is a wonderful little camera, though they do fetch a handsome price.

Another alternative is the Konica C35 Automatic. However, as its name implies, there is no manual override. That being said, it has a great lens, is light and compact (same size as the RC) and it's very reasonably priced. And yes, it looks good in black, too!
