I like the second, for the geometric forms, and the greater variety of forms within the composition. I like the way you've used the depth of field to isolate the pipe from the background. The interesting stuff in the background is just blurred enough to suggest rather than state (if that makes sense) leaving room for imagination. Nice work!

The lighting in the first one does it for me. I have spent too much time in industrial plants to be impressed by the others. Continue to concentrate on lighting and composition as you did in the first one.

The second one is my favorite and the first is good although the blurred foreground in the first is a bit distracting.

Thanks for the positive comments. I used Kodak BW400cn for all the shots. The wide angles were shot with my M6 and 35 cron, the tightly cropped photo was my new Hexar Rf with 90mm.

I don't like the composition in #3 - nothing to hold my eye. #2, on the other hand, is fascinating, and I like it very much. #1 looked great small, but when I looked at it full-size, the foreground bokeh was really disturbing...

The lighting in #1 is by far the best. I'm not big on the composition mostly because it's not my taste. With that, the composition is still good. I don't really like #3 not because it is a bad picture but because it just isn't that interesting to me. I like the composition of #2 the most, however the lighting leaves something to be desired. The background being so washed out bothers me (I'm not sure why).

I like all three of the shots since I love photos with texture, Number 1 is the shot I would Print thou. Composition is best imho in the 1st shot and lightning too. (also selective focus is yammy)
No. 2 would have benefited if captured one step farther right in my eyes, the V-structure of the pipes ( a more central composition) would have pleased my eye better.
No. 3 works good except the slight tilting imho (which is of no concern whatsoever since cropable) the Position of the Ring is very pleasing but i would think that compositing with the pipe in 2/3ds of the picture (getting rid of the white space above the round background structure) would have been better.
It´s brave of you to do this kind of online critique, I´m by no means a good photographer and commented only at what I would think if those were my pictures. Other will disagree but in the end all that matters is how and why YOU like your Shots.
It´s the most important part of learning to be hard to oneself (looking at the mediocre shots I post in my gallery I should take my own words more seriously 😉 ..but I like em anyways.)

If these were mine I would have asked myself these question; where is the catch here? Why did I take these pictures - what is the main idea in these shots? If the answer is something like "geometry" etc. and nothing more than that -- I would have not posted these. In my opinion in every photo there has to be something "deeper meaning" where to grab on. These, I'm afraid, doesn't do it for me. Sorry.
