Hey folks,
so I found a canonet GIII QL17 at a thrift store around these parts for real cheap. So here are 2 pics, which are pretty representative of my test roll.

So what's happening here? Notice the lines on the top and bottom/ right and left of the photos. My first instinct is the light seals need replacing. The camera has light seals but they do look more than a little crappy. Other than that, the shutter seems to fire properly at different apertures and speeds.

But, really I have no real idea of what's going on. Some help? 😕

looks like light leaks, was the door closed good, seal s may need replacing.

Good luck,
Todd

Looks like you are leaking lots of light. Probably a back seal problem.

Jon Goodman on this forum sells an excellent kit to replace the light seals. Seller is interslice on ebay.

It is worth it because this camera has an excellent lens.

Jon Goodman's light seal kits are legendary. I have used them to rescue a few cameras. including a couple of Canonets.

It really is straightforward, if you follow the instructions Jon provides and worth it as the camera is great!
