Need to store a digital camera

In starting to pair down some "Stuff" I found an early digital video camera. When I went to open the battery I found it PUFFY on two sides! It was in storage for about 10 years or so.

Only time I take a battery out is to charge it.

Otherwise they stay in. Even when not in use. Years for some.

Canon equipment.
