Need to trim film leader for M2?

Hi, I've just been watching Tom A's Youtube video on loading an M2/M3, and he doesn't trim the leader. The diagram on the camera shows the leader trimmed and that's how I've loaded my first couple of rolls, but I'd prefer not to.

Is it necessary? If I use the standard leader, is there anything I need to be careful of?

Trimming the leader for the M-series cameras is not needed. Trimming the leader for the screw Leicas is recommended though..
