Reading the thread about digital archiving and organizing got me thinking. I'm just starting to shoot film and want to get everything organized from the beginning. I don't plan on scanning all my negatives and would like to creative a database system with keywords. Something similar to what the third post in this old thread describes but without scanning the image. So using lightroom won't work.

Is there software out there? I don't think a simple spreadsheet will cut it (mainly due to wanting to search by keyword) so I'm thinking about creating a database. Before I learn how to create a database, are there easier solutions out there?

I couldn't find software that did what I want to do so I'm creating a database with access. Anyone have experience with creating databases with access? Trying to reverse engineer some of the sample databases without much luck.

yeah, used a lot of what you posted as the basis for my database. i've been getting too caught up on things like automation and ease of use. think i'm just going to focus on getting something that works first, then i'll worry about neat features.

I created a little database with a linked table, Film to Frames. If you PM me with your email address I will email it to you assuming you can receive zip files. It should do as a start point if nothing else.

p.s. include your monitor resolution as I will size it to fit within your monitor resolution width
