Neopan 1600 in Microphen - time from Dev Chart ?

After my less then satisfactory results souping Neopan 1600 (at 1600, 1250) in HC-110, I'm considering giving it a shot in Microphen.
Dev. Chart suggests 3.5 minutes in stock solution. Sounds a bit short (albeit I used to longer times in HC-110 H). Is it indeed a good starting point (20 deg., moderate agitation) ?

What are actual experiences with that combination ?
 
Did not try with microphen but with fujidol E with dev time about 4 min , and I got acceptable results . Here is some examples so you can judge by yourself. I remember reading on a forum that fujidol E is very much similar to D76. Maybe it good idea to try with D76.

Many of the Fuji films have notoriously short dev times. Just cool the developer down and get a longer time that way. I do not personally take the chance of uneven development with sub-5 dev times.
