I finally found a combination that I like when shooting Neopan 1600 @ E.I. 640 in 35mm. I was actually desparate for a subject in that I wanted to test my just arrived 35mm Biogon C. This is @ f/4.0 developed with TMax Dev. 1+9 @ 64 degrees for 11 3/4 minutes with 30 seconds of initial agitation then at 2,5,9 minutes.

its darned good in DDX and dilute Xtol too. I prefer the tonality of TriX at its native speed, but when you need a true extra stop (no push) there is no substitute!

Looks good to me, too. But why 64 degrees instead of 68?

I was trying to reduce grain by reduced agitation and temperature.
I'm not a big fan of Tri-X in 35mm, but it is my go-to in medium format and I've seen much Tri-X in 35mm from all of you that I love. I am curious as to what can be done with TMax 400 pushed to 640. I do love dilute Xtol. I use it with TMax 400 @ EI 320. I'll have to try DDX.
