Neopan or Tri-X?

Thanks ! Well, that is strange, because the opposite direction oblique lines of resp. the chair and the window are obviously shouting 35mm focal length.

Maybe a Rollei-Wide ? He had one IIRC.

Anyway - who cares. This is such a beautiful photo, and he was such a Man.
Not in 1949: they weren't introduced until 1961. The angles are a result of the viewpoint: he remarks on this in one of the sources quoted.

But as you say, ultimately, who cares? It's a gorgeous photo.

Thanks for the comment Highway 61. The darks are dark because that's where I placed them on the film curve 😉

You can get nice 35mm pushes in Rodinal. Tri-x rated at EI 1600 in a subway.
