Never again will I joke about Lucas Electrics.
Here I sat, chortling at our jokes, comfortable that my old sportscar is far superious to those flickering, sparking, oh so intermittent faulting GB toys, and the next day, my regulator kicks the bucket! So I grab a replacement (good BOSCH regulator, FERY GUT, JA?), pull the bottom hose so I can get to the alternator, pull the alternator to get to the regulator (manifolds in the way), replace the regulator, put it all back together, turn the key, and YAY! the ammeter is reading normal again!
But wait! There's smoke coming out of the back of the alternator...
Never again. God loves British Sportscars, it seems.
Cheers,
Steve
