Hello,
Does any one have an alternative to the heavy clumsy original never readys that come with the Zorki's? im using the bottom half of one and its too thick and heavy, defeats the purpose of a small light camera. Is there one from a different camera a Zorki 1 will slip into? I need lighter! Willing to modify to fit.......

I have several Zorkis, including two 1's. I have never been a fan of "never-ready" cases, including any of my other cameras. The Zorkis have all come through either ebay or Yuri at Fedka, and all have showed up with such a case. I routinely toss them, since they are usually in considerably worse shape than the cameras - some of which are hard to tell from new. For those that have strap lugs, I have put small rings in them so I can interchange a strap as needed. (The Zorki-1's don't have strap lugs, but most later models do.)
If you rerally want a case, I'd remove or cut off the top cover and made do with the bottem, which screws in via the tripod socket.

Take a sharp blade and convert the case into a "Half case" that can be useful. Just a suggestion. [Note how much these sell for!]

I use a fanny pack lined with foam. Another alternatives is an Optech or Zing neoprene rubber/foam accessory pouch. Hang it form your belt.
