I have just had a Kiev 4AM serviced by Oleg and it is wonderful! I pondered over spending money having it CLAd as 4AMs are not really well made and my 1981 model probably one of the worst. Buy another for $30 or have it serviced at twice the price? I had it serviced. The viewfinder is soooo clear and the shutter sweet. Was I crazy? maybe (someone please tell meI did the right thing) but the machine will probably bang on for years. This is my fourth of this model, most have disappeared into the rubbish. Fingers crossed!

i think that 4am can be very good cameras when serviced - they had bad control so many were unadjusted in a first place - and because of that they are not used up much probably only few films before owner realized that something is wrong - so basically you get a new camera after you adjust it. 😀
