it hit me the other day that i have a beautiful 55-200 lens...i bought it for the times when i might need a longish lens...to use mostly at the 200 end.
and now we will soon have a new 200 macro lens that is a bit faster than the zoom...i'm thinking i should get that lens and sell the zoom...
anyone else toying with the a similar idea?

I don’t want to sound negative but.....The xf 200 is for tele enthusiasts. Not guys like us who use “the long end” once or twice a month.
Think birders and sport shooters.
It will be big, expen$ive! seldom used in my kit.
Not thinking of it at all.
Would rather add an x100f with the money (and have change to spare).

Going on your signature, I'd say you have more lenses than you need already.i'm thinking i should get that lens and sell the zoom.

If the link works for me with Safari and Chrome on my Mac desktop and my iPad, and Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome on my Windows laptop, without more, it hard to diagnose a problem.

A 200mm (300mm equiv.) lens is not very long when it comes to bird photography.
The Fuji 100-400mm (150-600mm equiv.) would the lens choice for birds. (Or a 2X teleconverter on the 200mm.)
Lots of ways to spend your money.

you guys, i would think, must be used to my mental meanderings by now.
i was at a photo trade show yesterday and played with the new 80...lovely and large lens...quick af and nicely balanced on my xe3...now that is worth looking at and might be something i would use.
tried the 100-400...i would need an assistant just to carry that lens!

The 55-200 is a really nice lens. I originally rationalized my purchase to shoot my daughters soccer where I rarely if ever went to 200mm. Focal lengths 100-140 seem to get most use for me.
Keep the 55-200mm.

Well, if the 80mm lens "might" be something you would use, by all means buy it. Hell, just buy all the lens in the Fuji portfolio. You never know when you "might" use them too. Then you could focus on your photography instead of what you might need to buy.i was at a photo trade show yesterday and played with the new 80...lovely and large lens...quick af and nicely balanced on my xe3...now that is worth looking at and might be something i would use.

I don't want to sound snarky but.... why not shop for need instead of availability?
Yeah... Fuji has a 200mm and an 80mm... if you need them for something great otherwise ??
Just trying to understand.

you have such a lovely attitude...have many real life friends?
my buying habits, how i like to shoot or not shoot is my business...and not really yours...and i just generally find you an ignorant prick(ly) person.
so in the future please refrain from joining in on any thread i may start.
