NEW 35mm f1.2

Hi,
This has been posted a few times months ago, but not from RW. Lots of discussion of the price of the original increasing as a result.

Folks, I just stumbled on this:

http://www.robertwhite.co.uk/product.asp?P_ID=3319&PT_ID=706

It is a tad lighter, and focuses to 0.5m. But I hope it has been optically tweaked over the first version (same number of elements and groups)? Any more news on this lens?

You hope it WAS optically "tweaked"? Why? Do you not like first version? Many here hope that will retain same siganture as the original one.....- reason that the original 35/1.2 is so popular.

Have the original in chrome, nice but heavy, so only use once in a while - mostly take out the little summi's....

btw the drawing of this lens (I mean the first one) is beautiful with outstanding sharpness even fully open.

When I said tweaked, I was referring to better contrast at apertures wider than F2.8, and
hopefully the same signature.

I have the original in chrome also. I dont see moving mine either. Interested to see samples from this lens of course

Cosina has not yet announced the price,
the availability date,
or the changes to the original optical design.

when will they announce something? Its been long since its been rumored. Has the earthquake caused the delay?

Hopefully my wallet will be fat enough to take the hit when it's finally available. Can't wait to get my hands on that lens. I'm going to start selling all my LTM gear to make room for it,
