New 35mm film/movie camera

I saw this too. Very interested to try and have fun with it, maybe later when some free cash pops up. Nice to see film product is still being made.
And yes, waiting to see a crazy youtube video that somebody did.

It would be nice if the proyector would no be limited to a single 135 cartige. Gluing films together we could make real silent movies! :)

Hi nimcod,

thank you very much for your reply!

Ive already had 3 or 4 people ask about a projector in store, so this does seem to be gaining a good amount of interest.

Some friends of mine who like me have already ordered the package (LomoKino + LomoKinoScope) also have expressed big interest in a projector for real home movies.
And in some German forums the photographers asked for projectors as well, e.g. look here:
http://www.aphog.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=19329&start=15.

This great interest has a background:
In Germany and some of the neighbour countries (Austria, Suisse, Czech, Belgium, Denmark, Poland) there is a new trend evolving among young enthusiastic photographers:
They discover the joy of big, brilliant, impressive pictures. They discover the joy of slide projection.
They meet up for "OpenSlide" meetings: Everyone brings 10-15 slides to the meeting, slides with different subjects, from different films.
So there is a very big variety of different slides, different characters and different subjects which are projected big on a screen. That is very exciting and thrilling!
And OpenSlide meet-ups are always party and fun with some good drinks and jokes as well :D, not only big brillant pictures.

We have such an OpenSlide party at least once a month.
Both fine art pictures and lomographs, both color and BW slides are projected.
Our youngest participants, most lomo / low-fi enthusiasts which have grown up in the digital world, are absolutely fascinated by the brillant slide projection, because they have never seen it so far (only used to crappy computer monitores).
They love the projection experience, this cinema feeling.

And a LomoKino projector would absolutely be a perfect fit for that!
Leave the digital grind behind :).

Ill say now sadly we have no sway over the R&D and future product development, as that is based at HQ in vienna, ive already posited the idea on a bulk back to them,

Thanks!
The bulk back for 17m or 30m film rolls is an excellent idea, and perfectly fits the idea of an projector.
Furthermore in this context it would be a good idea if LSI also offers the Lomo X-Pro 100, 200 and Tungsten as bulk film, too
(all the original E6 films suitable for projection; and maybe a 5m or 10m roll could make sense, too).

and ill be sure to forward on your post just keep the fingers crossed enough people express an interest and that they think it will be possible to make and be profitable to produce.

Thanks again! That is really nice that you forward our ideas to the headquarter in Vienna.

Any questions about lab stuff (uk based here, but i can always try and answer for other districts) or the kino itself ill be more than happy to try and help.

Thanks.

Cheers, Jan

I might suggest an alternative to scanning each frame would be to use the "TTV" method (Through The Viewfinder), by taking video of the hand-cranked projector's miniature screen. This would have the effect of imparting the human touch of the projectionist into the mix. You'd have to use a camera with close-focus in order to frame the projector screen properly. Perhaps a micro-4/3 cam with a legacy macro lens attached would work.
