New 50 Lux ASPH challenges

Don, I'm surprised the mods allow b*llsh*t like that to slip by. Nothing wrong with a good argument, but petty ad-hominem attacks like that are what slowly ruin a forum.

Honestly, it read like text messages between a couple of teenage girls. 😡

You might find this informative, but mildly annoying. I have a new version 50/2.8 Elmar purchased used from a fellow forum member. The focus was initially a bit stiff and quite "grabby" when doing fine focusing, as has been described previously. I sent it to Don Goldberg and he replaced the stock teflon-based Leica helicoid lubricant with what he calls "real grease". The difference was like night to day. Now the lens is a smooth as silk. I wonder if the type of lubricant is the problem with all the new lenses? Don mentioned that he thinks this may be the case.

Hi Don

Hi Don

I apologize. I thought your opinion and experiences were imminent in a thread like this.

In any case, I think it would be good for the OP to know your thoughts and experiences (or possibly be linked to one of the previous posts).

You definitely have a lot of knowledge, and IMHO had some bad experiences with some recent Leica glass and/or Leica service.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and Happy 2008 to you Don.

That's how it impressed me too. Part of the reason I rarely post here now.

kevin m your copy of my post left out a significant element: the 😉. Lighten up, I was teasing.

Don, if you're offended then I apologise. I do respect your photographic skill.
