I agree it looks like a purse (or handbag, in British parlance). A&A makes some nice stuff, but this is not one of those things.

yeh, it's a little too "fashionable" for me.

EDIT: the shape itself just looks like a messenger or laptop bag. It's the decorative material and stitching or whatever that (for me) is too flashy.

That's pretty feminine / flashy....

Think Tank's new Retrospective series is far less so and uses the basic AA top load design. If I did not already have an AA Oskar's One Day Bag, I would use the Think Tank Retrospective 20 for my small RF kit...

Purse, schmurse. It looks nice, but I prefer the simpler ACAM series.

Actually, my favorite in this class of bag is the Black Label Bag "Oskar's One Day Bag mark II" sold by Photo Village in NYC. It's a clone of the ACAM 7100 plus some improvements.
