went to my local camera store and they had agfa apx 100 and agfa precisa ct 100 film -- bought quite a few rolls -- we'll see if it has the classic agfa looks -- film is not quite dead

I've still never used any AGFA. Do they still make b&w? If so what can you recommend?

Agfa went belly up around 2005, all the APX100 that is still being sold was made before they closed the doors.

APX100 and even better APX25 are very nice, still have some of each. APX25 only in medium format.

not quite true --- this is a new company marketing agfa film, new stock, fresh

lupus imaging and media gmbh

ex 12/2015

my color expires 11/2014

Agfaphoto (Leverkusen) went bankrupt, not Agfa (Gevaert Belgium).
Agfaphoto is only a brand today, used by Lupus and others. It has nothing to do with todays Agfa Gevaert in Belgium which still coates film.
APX100 is old stock manufactured in Leverkusen. The Agfaphoto color films are from new suppliers, CT Precisa is from Fuji and very similar to Provia / Trebi and a very good film.

Some of the Agfa Geavert film is available through MACO, Fotoimpex and Wittner.

Some threads before I learned CT Precisa is repackaged......ringing any bells?.....Provia 100F !!!

There are even more Agfa fragments around - Lupus Imaging is not quite that disconnected from Agfa, being a management buyout of the former Agfaphoto marketing department. And then there is Inoviscoat (source for some of the Adox papers), the management buyout of the most modern among the former Agfa coating facilities. And there also is a holding that owns the Agfa trade marks, which never was involved in the bankruptcy.

And one step further off, Fotoimpex/Adox bought equipment from the Agfa coating research lab and relocated it to Bad Saarow as a small scale production facility.
