New and improved FED-2 ...Thanks for all the help

Just a note of thanks to Jim Blazik's site, and Aki Asahi's site.

After inspiration from this site I decided to spruce up my FED-2. Following the detailed instructions on Jim's site I stripped, scrubbed, & buffed my FED (so to speak). I then applied etching primer and several coats of automotive satin black finish. After that a nice bake in the oven, a nice polish and wax, and Poof Super FED.

I then applied Aki Asahi's pebble finish covering, beautiful and easy. He even included an additional covering in another finish free.

I'll post photos of the finished product soon.

I loaned my digital to my sister, so as soon as I can shoot some film and process, I'll post.

I see your in NW Ohio....I'm in SE MI, if there are other members in the area maybe a RFF Mi/Oh coffee/camera/ gathering is possible in the future?!?

Good luck with your project. If you decide to go for it, I'd be happy to contribute a set of new skin for $7.00. That's 1/2 of the price of a set. Aki sent it to me free with my set, so I'm just trying to recoup 50% of my costs. It's for a 2 d-e and is a black, fine grain finish with self adhesive back. There are installation instructions on his site.
