Tom and Tuulikki are putting the finishing touches on their final design on what will surely become one of their most famous and sought after products:

The incredible not edible BARNACK THE CAT SOFT RELEASE!

What Leica M photog can be truly secure in knowing their shot will be the best it can be .... without Barnack the Cat steading their shot? The first 100 limited edition Barnack Soft Releases will surely take their place with the Leica A Anastigmats!

Please note the Barnack the Cat Soft Release is the larger version, as the mini-soft release was not large enough to show Barnack in all his greatness!

I think that Elmar is a combination of Ernst Leitz and Max Berek (there was even a Elmax 50f3.5).
The dogs were Max Berek's Rex and Hektor (German short haired retrievers). Rex must have been a bad dog as he only got one lens named after him (Summarex), whilst Hektor had a whole bunch (Hektor 28/50/125/135 etc).
The Mr B Softie will be forthcoming at some time, we have the artwork done, but are trying to match Mr B's tabby yellow in the anodizing. Not easy.
We thought it appropriate as Mr B loves Softreleases, mainly the packaging - occasionally he swats dropped softies under furniture too!

Yellow tabby, now you are talking my language.

I wage a daily war with the neighbourhood cats, battles are won and lost for control of my garden.

However, I have developed a begrudging respect for the buggers.

The softie looks great Tom, thank you very much.
