New blog about darkroom printing

Hi Taylan, nice blog idea!
I'd like to see comparisons that demonstrate the differences of both development methods, and printing materials and techniques:
- for development, if you were to photograph the same scene using the same (commonly available, e.g. Tri-X or HP5) film in as close to the same lighting conditions as possible, demonstrating the effect of using different developers and development methods; with comments about why you would choose each developer/development method in different circumstances; and
- for printing, examples of prints made with the same neg, using different papers/toners.

Thank you Lynn for your opinions. You put weights on my shoulders :). Unfortunately I couldn't find varied materiel especially paper at my local dealer. I can only buy Ilford papers. In spite of difficulties i will try find a solution.

I am easy to please: what I like to read about wet printing is that people are still doing it. Cool that you're going to blog about it - good luck!
 
good technical details will most likely attract followers, but how to you put the print on a website is still considered digital domain.

I've been writing a similar blog for the last few months, concentrating on the printing process and everything related to the darkroom, although I've stuck to Turkish as the language since I felt that there's quite a lot of info in English out there already, but not so much in Turkish. Anyway, I'm very glad to see other Turkish photogs that are enthusiastic about film and wet printing and I'm looking forward to reading your blog.

By the way, just yesterday I was on Istiklal street and went down Kumbaraci Yokusu to drop by and say hello, however your place was closed.

You are so right. Actually it is very difficult to give a real emphasize of the print actual look. I am scanning the prints and trying to adjust and equalize the tones in PS with the real print. Unfortunately digital one is so far to the real one.

Hi ooze. I looked your blog and I think it is fabulous. I just added your blog to my favorites and i started to fallow you. May be I should try double language.
I am generally at weekends at the darkroom. Richard (semrich) is stopping by Mondays and Thursdays. I will send my cellular phone number. Just call me before you come. I will be glad to meet you.

Good idea, just a little suggestion, I know you're playing with your intro to the blog, but you may want to clarify and give some credit to people whom you have learned darkroom printing from, or have inspired you to do it.

Other than that, please continue. More people need to know about darkroom printing, especially today.
 
Great idea, I will follow it, too! I've been wanting to experiment with developing and wet printing and have assembled some of the equipment, but still need to set up a properly darkened room. So I would also be very interested in more basic how-tos and building up skills.

Actually I will mention about darkroom and my printing techniques.
I established four different darkroom before. If you need something, please do not hesitate to ask.
 
Many thanks! I'm actually debating getting a darkroom tent at the moment as my bathroom has rather large windows and is generally not ideal - if anyone has one for sale in Europe or has tried one of the "grow tents" for it (not sure about these reflective insides and light-proofing) I would be very interested.

I think the easiest step for building a darkroom is light leaking. You need just two layer thick black fabric. Cover your windows with them and forget the light :)
