really? you mean photos are published by Magnum without prior consent of the "model". :bang:
If its a model sure, but like everyone else pointed out... for documentary, reportage or artistic purposes, a majority of the time you don't get consent. I can't see reporters in war zones, political rallies, or about 100 years of street photography asking for consent or release forms to publish their works.
i think its the same in this case. good video though... guy's a character.

I'd guess he's using a prefocused wide-angle lens and a powerful flash used off-camera (obviously).
I tried using off-camera flash with a synch chord but I found it to be a PITA to focus while holding the flash in my left hand. I generally use a 50mm lens at a fairly wide aperture though. With 35 at f/8 you could set it and forget it, as Ron would say.

The other video where he's just shown blasting off flash in front of people's face in NY shows that he's just an eccentric photographer.
But this video shows that he's a real journalist, with substance, just hear what the snippets of "thoughts" that he selected to record and playback during the video.
Quite a guy.

It is really easy with a rangefinder. You just set the focus at the distance the flash range is at and shoot away. For instance, my Vivitar flash multiple settings for distance and it tells you the f-stop to use for those distances.
thanks andrew... would love to try it one day.![]()
