Innovative Camera Bag Company Launched by Veteran Designer
Veteran camera bag designer Doug Murdoch launches Think Tank Photo, a company dedicated to creating camera bags and accessories based upon input from professional photographers.

Santa Rosa, CA (PRWEB) January 20, 2005 -- For veteran photographic equipment bag creator Doug Murdoch, designing camera bags and accessories is more than a craft, it is a cause. “Many of history’s greatest moments are captured only because the photographer was ready ‘Before the Moment,’ intuitively pressing the shutter before the definitive moment occurred,” said Murdoch. The goal of his new company, Think Tank Photo (www.thinktankphoto.com), is to design inventive carrying solutions, based upon photographer behavioral input, that help them capture these moments.

Bill:

The idea of using a fanny pack works very well. I have a large Eddie Bauer fanny pack that I rotate around to the front when I'm shooting. It works kinda like a Kangaroo's pouch. Just dump stuff in and yank it out again.

I added a foam bottom and back-side liner (to protect my fanny) and it works really well. Costs me bout $20 at the Eddie Bauer outlet.

A nice one like the one in the ad might be more comfortable.

I noticed that Lowepro also does a harness and buttpack type system, and this reminds me of that. I think they're a trifle expensive as well, and I'm not that interested, but I try to pass along potentially useful information on cameras and photography when I come across it - who knows whom this might appeal to?

Bill, thanks very much for all your info links. I always read them. You never know when a Rich Aunt might leave you some camera-bag money ...

(Now if I could only locate a Rich Aunt ...)

I prefer something that doesn't say "Steel me" all over it. A worn out pack pack or even better if your in a bad neighborhood...a paper shopping bag maybe.

I have a Tamrac fanny/photo-pack that cost $20something. All padded and the top part expands to a small backpack if needed for a raincoat or long/tele-lens. Just plain green and comfortable.

Thanks for the info. Fanny packs are my favourite way to tote my gear around.

i have about 4 bags now that i use regularly and i think when i pull out a camera it says steal me.
i will never find the perfect bag but i think the domke is the most comfortable, the billingham is the best built, better looking and very protective bag. the tamrac is small light black and goes unnoticed usually. the book bag looks classy, is protective when the insert in used and is quite rugged considering it was very cheap.

thanks for the link bill, i enjoy checking out new stuff.
