new camera for Christmas?

i settled on another wrist strap and a long strap from luigi.

I think this is where I am going too. Friday I took a good run at a nice looking Canon L1 only to come up short. Sold by a known dealer in the UK (and signed up member here) and bought by a known dealer in Portugal from whom I purchased my Nikkor 85/2. At least I cost him $85 in the closing seconds.

Well, with the unspent cash in my pocket I hit the internet hard and got all of my Christmas shopping done. No malls with mobs of teens mugging people they think may have a PS3 game counsel for me, just a bunch of visits from the UPS man in the next few weeks to complete my buying experience.

So for me, a strap I think, or a bag, I don't know.

are you gonna miss the current wife?

i'll trade my wife for any leica commemorative m - still shrink wrapped in the original box with passport warranty.

Last year, I asked my wife what she wanted for her birthday. She said she wanted a divorce - I said I wasn't prepared to spend that much money 😀

My recent buy of a mint M6 counts as my Christmas camera for this year.
Next year, I will maybe get a M2.

No new camera for me. I just bought a new (to me) lens, A brass barrel 13" Rapid Rectilinear 8x10 with all of the original Waterhouse stops.

I'd like about 3 more vented lens hoods and a LTM to M adapter for 90mm.

What's the condition of your wife? Please send photos. 😉

Well the one I'm interested in will not be available at Christmas, unfortunately. 🙁 But then again I'm a bit leery about buying a brand-new camera body. It would have to be the $100 deposit, but that CV R4A is talking to me. 🙂

user condition, dings everywhere, noisy, needs a good cla, a lot of fungus

Sounds like my M3. No fungus though...keep her, like my M3, she seems to be reliable, dependable, and durable. Unlike those slinky new models which may be temperamental. Besides, her condition won't fetch much on eBay....a Borat moment here.....😀

She might not want you to take photos of her but she probably would like you to write her love letters. 😉

Strangely, my wife gets a bit... quiet at the thought of another camera, but is perfectly okay with the notion of another fine pen.

These vices I have, none are cheap.

xmas came early for me... last week i won a Ricoh GR1s in mint condition for a very reasonable price and had it delivered to my office in person .. the camera is very small, has supreme ergonomics and the lens 28/2.8 - 7 blade design) is amazing... not a true rangefinder (AF with distance (zone) confirmation) ... will post some results later..

ps any other owners/users of this fine little P&S ???

I just paid $105 for a CLA on my Isolette by Jurgen Kreckel(certo6) so that is my holiday gift to myself. Bought it for $20. Should be here this week. He even upgraded the lens on it.
