New Cameras?

I'm a long-time Leica user (more than 50-years) and a self-proclaimed gear junkie. But every time Leica introduces something new I insistently proclaim I don't need or want it (be it due to cost or features).

However, as it relates to Leica's latest offering, as much as I insist I don't need or want 40+ megapixels, I confess (when the economic conditions present themselves) I have the potential to give in to it eventually. But I confess - price in-elasticity notwithstanding - I'm presently far more tempted by the M10 Monochrom than the M10-R.

Hmm. My shoulder is feeling much better today. I wonder if I can handle lifting a Polaroid to my eye again. The left hand carries the weight.. Time for a lunch walk. ...

I hefted the camera and bag as I prepared for my walk. Hmm. Shoulder improving, but not quite ready to take on that much weight for a two hour walk. I stuck my book and the package I needed to drop at the post office into the bag instead. Such it is.

That said, later I did find time to make a few photos around the condo with the Hasselblad 500CM fitted with the CFVII 50c. My left arm did most of the work of setting up the tripod and camera, etc. The photos I made were mostly just continuing to practice how to get the best critical focus with the SLR viewfinder when using the digital back.

No, I really don't need any new cameras at this point. But they do provide interesting new points of view that can be useful.
