Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking, I'd much rather have the 25mm. Have two of the 25mm Canon viewfinders, already. 25mm & 28mm are so close, seems kinda redundant, to me.
I liked the 25mm shots you posted recently. Found a Guy not too far away, who has three of them for sale. Need to contact him soon.
Looking forward to burning some XX through this soon. I'm definately glad I grabbed it!

With the 28, you don't have to be as close to the (surprised) subject which often is a good thing, but you have less hyperfocal distance than the 25's to play with.

Here are the original Canon seals (no doubt) that could stand to be replace. They are very small. near where the back hinges, on the left and right.
Will cut new ones from adhesive 1mm foam tommorrow, shouldn't take long at all.

A Canon P reseal job is the easiest you'll ever do.

The original trap was velvet, contacted cemented in place. I removed it and cleaned off the excess dried cement, and cleaned it up a bit with a tiny paintbrush and lighter fluid.
The left side is a square piece, which tucks under the horizontal bar that runs across the inside of the filmback. The right is a thin strip, that runs along the edge.
Easy job to do, did a cut-and-place, using 1mm self-adhesive foam. Both of these traps contact stops on the back side of the camera.
Now I am ready to load P with Eastman XX and get out there! Of course, it is raining today. 🙄

After some relatively light use over the last weekend, the paint on the bottom plate started to scrape off, revealing the original silver underneath. Not very happy about that, it would really bug me over time. The advance is smoothing out, especially when loaded with film, but not exactly smooth, like my Canon 7.
The camera is now halfway back to Japan, the dealer is kindly giving me a full refund, less shipping. I'm all good with all that, I suggested he have the camera properly prepared before re-repainting it.
OK for a showcase piece (I guess). But I have no interest in that.

Silver chrome, as in the original chrome finish.
No paint will stick to that, long term, I am thinking.
I have changed my plans slightly, I will find a nice chrome P body at some point.
I am grateful to the dealer, that he is taking it back without a hassle, we will see. I did tell him the bottom of the camera will need to be repainted.

Sorry to hear about the paintwork. Good quality paint jobs on the Canon P are hard to come by.
I have a crackled finish, similar to the black finish on the Canon L lenses.

Happy Ending to this story.
Just received a full refund from the dealer, including my initial shipping.
And the Black Mr. Zhou "P" Case I just received perfectly fits my new Canon 7S body, so I'll keep it, for that.
