Well, I’ve always been a ‘bottom feeder’ as they say.
(The most I’ve paid for a lens is $1500, just this last Thursday. It has a diameter of about 5mm and a focal length of 22mm and is sitting inside my right eye as I type this.)
But joking aside my whole collection, if sold for the current going rate would probably fetch no more than $1000. It is all beat up user equipment. There is a certain comfort in using a camera that is not pretty, but works fine.

Day 1: out with a Hexar AF. Mistook the "vit" sound of the last good frame of Pan F Plus for the start of rewinding -- and ten minutes later ended up opening the camera on frame 38.

Well, I shot another roll, so not a huge loss! Also shot a 1/2 hour film with a DxO one, which I didn't even think was possible. And an A7rii with a 35 Zeiss. Just 7 more fixed-lens cameras and a few SLR/RF/MF bodies with 42 more lenses of highly variable quality and far more variable prices (I think the cheapest was $10...). Piece of cake, right?!

I might be close to a spectacular failure (or smashing success).
As to existing cameras and lenses, it's a smashing success so far.I burned through 2/3 of them in the first couple of months - without even breaking a sweat. The most unexpected fun was multiple exposures and prismatic filters for my Nikon F4 and 28-105 AF. See attached picture for an example on Pan F plus.
As to spectacular failure, I managed to move the finish line further away by acquiring some nostalgia pieces. Win some, lose some, I guess...

I shudder to think of the cost of doing a roll in each of my film cameras, unless I kind of cheat and get one of those 400ft bulk films and run off a bunch of six or ten frame rolls. But then I've already used almost all the cameras I own (except for the oddballs I purposely collected), so no big reason to do it all over again. I'm pretty sure what I want to get rid of, and have started the process of culling the herd. I've compiled several spreadsheets already, but will have to do them over again as the collection has changed/grown since then. In the meantime, here is an example of something I'll likely get rid of:

It’s hard to even come up with the number of ‘cameras’ I have, many of them, perhaps half, are homebuilt, usually to use 4x5 holders. Might be able to get through the whole collection by using photo paper as negatives. Not just in the ones using film holders but also placed in a couple of 6x9 cameras.

I had to research that one. Has a rangefinder! Decent lens and shutter. Programmed AE with selenium cell. No batteries. Cool 1950’s, early 1960’s “Populuxe” styling. A good deal for someone.

Had not seen this thread before today so I am a bit late off the blocks but still, not too worried.
As of now I own fewer cameras than at any time in the last 2 decades or so and have already been culling all the stuff I don't use.
So, what I think I will do is to try to save as much money as I can so that I will be ready for Sept next year when the market is flooded by all those underutilized cameras and lenses.
