I just ran my first roll of film through a lla with Russian lens that I got off eBay. Though the camera is beat up externally, it seems to operate O.K. Now the problem. I had to tape the film leader to the take up spool as the spool is incorrect or damaged. I would like to get a replacement spool.
Do you have one for sale or know of a replacement that will work..maybe from a Kiev?
Though I've used Leicas since about 1950, this is my first try with the Contax and so far, I'm enjoying the experience.

Here's a "do it yourself" method: http://elekm.net/zeiss-ikon/repair/spool.html
Mike's site has a lot of excellent contax information.
Welcome -- and enjoy your IIa. A really nice camera to use.

Thank you for pointing me toward Mike's site. Lots of good stuff there. I'll try the method outlined as soon as I find an old spool. Regards

You can buy Kiev take up spools and cassettes from the FSU e-bay shops. The spools vary in ease of use.

the snow must go on
just use the method on that site. Simply cut a slit into an old plastic spool. Works like a charm.
