You're right, it's horrible.

For a few seconds, I actually considered bidding -- for the ugly factor alone. For $100 I'd almost consider it. $200 is far above what I'd actually be willing to pay for it, though.

It's not exactly a discreet street shooter, though.

That, my friends is the infamous, notorious, and all together hideous, "Desert Storm Leica."

This thing has been floating around eboy for months now. So sad, so very very sad. It returns to haunt us. Small children brake out in tears in it's presence.

Goes to show that tastes differ. I like it (the fake Leica that is), but then again that may be because my senses are numbed for these kind of colours; I've got two daughters that decorate the house and all in it with Lego-Belleville and Clikits..

Gotta go... I've got several "questions for the seller" before I bid --
(1.) Does it take camo pictures too?
(2.) Is it the Norman Swartz-kopf Autograph model?
(3.) Does it use 35mm film or 50 cal.?
(4.) Does it have the optional barbed-wire neckstrap?
(5.) Will Homeland Security acutally allow you to ship that thing?
(6.) Do you now, or have you ever -- lived at Git-mo?
(7.) Would it be possible to get a discount for buying multiple units.... say 3 ... or 6 ... or maybe a whole snoot-full?


Any more questions for the seller, guys?

The awful piece is actually trying to represent a WWII German Army Leica! Look at the top plate with the Heer inscription! The camouflage scheme is not desert but is actually WWII German autumn camouflage for their tanks and armoured vehicles. But I must admit that I have never seen a camera so distastefully painted! It is even worse than the 'Golden Bessa R'! 😛

How many different ebays are there? This one didn't sell the last two times I've seen it so I guess the seller will keep putting it on the various ebays until it does...
This was discussed/laughed at in the "what are they smoking in the Ukraine " thread.
Some of this sellers repainted Zorkis/FEDs(?) I actually find appealing but NOT this one.
One of the members here has bought a camera from this seller IIRC--I wonder how that's worked out ?
