I bought my first film scanner yesterday. There's not much choice around town, and after reading all the old threads here with any mention of scanner, I plunked my money down for the Nikon Coolscan V. I have about 1000 old colour transparancies from the late 70's onwards, and a heap of B&W negs from even before then. That's going to be quite a long project, plus whatever new material I shoot.
I can tell it will take me a while to learn how to drive this thing, but of course that didn't stop me jumping straight in. Here's one of the first good results, from a roll of B&W that I shot when I was was a teenager. I can't remember for sure what camera I had then, but it might have been a Trip 35. Who can identify the car on the right?

No. The Aussies should recognise it. Very famous at one stage. I saw a well preserved example a couple of months back, driven by two fit-looking guys in their early 60's, heading for the coast with a pair of long-boards on the racks.

Getting warm. I thought it was an AP - the Apey Valiant? Mind you I'm not a Valiant expert!

Ha! You are a Valiant expert! Just goes to show - never ask a question unless you are certain you know the answer!

Haha...no expert, but I'd love a station wagon version of these cars (not sure if its also called a "Safari Wagon" like later Valiants?)....so cool AND space for the Mals...
Just need cash and time then to cruise the north coast...ahhhh I WISH!
