New cover for M2

OK. I did it. I ordered a new cover for my M2. Yes, the Japanesque Gold cover offered by Aki Asahi. It'll look great during Xmas and the New Year's celebrations, and with Tsagaan Sar (White Month, or Mongolian New Year). :)

I left a photo of the Paradise Pink Snake leather covered M2 in my gallery for those who might miss it. :)
 
Pherdinand, don't worry. :) I just liked the Japanesque Gold. I ordered AND paid for it already (Aki replies swiftly!). When it gets here I'll see how it looks in real life.

Anyway, I'll have a mould from which, in the future, I can cut heavy silk for a new cover. I have a wonderful deep blue deel (traditional Mongolian garment) and an M2 covered in the same blue silk would look gorgeous on my wedding day, me thinks. :)

In Mongolia hardly anyone marries for the law. When you're an item long enough people will consider you married. So, in Mongolia we're considered married, though in Holland we would still be seen as BF/GF. But I don't like to talk about Sumiya as my girlfriend; she's much more than that. So, I just say she's my wife.

When my wife and girl come to Holland next year we'll get married properly and have a reception for my family and relatives. Exactly one year later (summer 2006) we'll do the same thing in Mongolia for Sumiya's family and relatives. Of course, all of you are invited to come to Mongolia and join the celebrations. :) Seriously! You'll have to make your own travel arrangements but if you let me know in time I could probably arrange housing and a tour through Mongolia (I'll have to do so for my relatives anyway).

So, start saving and note it down in your agenda or PDA. :)

Be careful with me - i surprised already some people by accepting invitations they thought i'll never accept...
 
The invitation stands. When I know more about dates I'll post a more formal thread here on RFF.

So, what's it going to be? Bahamas or Mongolia in 2006? :)
 
It's too bad the Paradise Pink Snake has to go. Couldn't you get another M2 for the Japanesque Gold? :D The Japanesque Gold will be spectacular. Maybe I could cover my Speed Graphic with Japanesque Gold? Maybe not.
 
I'll keep the Paradise Pink, at least as a mould for any future DIY cover cutting. But perhaps it can be re-glued and re-used one day as well.

Or should I go for another M2? Nah, I'm happy with this one.
 
Congratulations on the upcoming Wedding Day. It just would not do to have the Groom wearing a Pink M2. Save it for a Pattern for coverings OR sell it to Gordon to get an M2!
 
Hey a second wedding ! Congrats ! :D I'm writing down this date and some more. I have a feeling that the Xmas lotto number will end in 73 this year. If I win, I'm planning on doing a RFF-Tour to visit all those places I can only see in pictures now :)

PS: Now I only need to go out there find that number, if it's still available! :eek:

Mmmm, leopard skin.... Mink could be nice as well. Bit expensive, though.

When the Japanesque Gold arrives I'll sve the Paradise Pink cover very carefully. I just know I'll need it in the future to cut some special covers by myself.

So, how about a special forum on camera body coverings? :)
