New film from Foma

I contacted Foma as soon as I got to know about the new film.

They answered me today. Sheet films and 35mm in bulk will be available soon, possibly before the end of may. But it will take some time untill the final product gets available to their local distributors.

Here are print samples (made by Foma) shot on 5x7 Retropan:

Not much interested in the 35mm; but, this is interesting for 4x5. Any time I see "Retro," though, I worry about the pricing.

Yes, I asked if they could send me any samples that were shot on the new film.

The Foma importer for the UK just confirmed what Miko said above regarding availability at the end of May.
Then it is a question of each distributor to make an order whenever they collate a large quantity and then you add the time for actual transportation.
I was expecting this new film to be available in the Autumn, but it seems we will have it sooner.

If it's priced like the other Foma films, this may very well end up as my go-to film for 4x5, where the 100 speed is a bit to slow with the crazy reciprocity..
I'm a very satisfied Foma customer, using fomapan 100 in 135 and 4x5 as well as using their Xtol clone Fomadon excel for almost everything. Never had a problem with the film or chemicals.

Great to see, but here in US the special developers tend not to be found or they claim not to be able to ship.

Although there has been bits and pieces if good news, most of it is about film and manufacturers hanging on or about new film niches opening up. I can't remember seeing news about the release of a new film. I am going to buy some, though i am not sure about the developer.

According to Foto Riegler in Austria the 4x5 version of the film will be available June 15th 2015. I guess the 35mm version will soon follow.
