New Forums, Link, Behind the Scenes

Sorry, but I don't think having more separate forums is good.

Do you want RFF to become something like "pee-dot-net" with all sorts of forums where people don't know about each other? :eek:

With less specialized forums I could easily read through forums of my interest and post replies. For example I would read Voigtlander, FSU, Olympus and General discussion. With the new forums I'll have to read through: Voigtlander, Russian, Olympus, scale focus, fixed lens and general discussion. :bang:

And if there are 3 forums for panoramics, someone will have to read through all of them... :bang:

And it'll be harder to decide where to post specific question... for example Olympus XA2 is Olympus as well as a scale focus camera... :confused:

Guess I'll have to get used to this... :(
 
Or you can read from the home page and see all the new and updated threads from all forums in one go.
 
There's also the New Posts option, or I can subscribe to those forums that interest me most so that new threads/posts are waiting in my User CP. Of course, I still have to do all that clicking and reading and stuff. ;)

...which made me think of ANOTHER great idea for another new forum. :eek: How 'bout a forum for guys 'n gals who have or hope to have at least one working camera from each of the listed forums. We could call it.... the Flat Broke Forum. :eek:
