New Fuji MF film camera shown at PMA

I'd like a Dobsonian mount MF camera please...

Actually, this is kind of cool news. I thought the days of new film cameras were over.
It takes a progressive culture to recursively think out of the box, when the illusion of "thinking out of the box" is, actually, thinking inside the box.

Genius.

i think we can see couple of examples of companies working a niche and being successfull in computing and gaming circles. of course they are apple computers and nintendo. the news of apple's apparent demise are news from a different era and they continue to sell more machines and grow userbase in the higher end of computing market. nintendo has rejuvenated the gaming market by bringing in more first time and older gamers into the fold. fuji is doing something similar in the film market as well. newer films, newer cameras are proof that the film market might be shrinking but its big enough for opportunities to be successful. now contrast that with kodak...anything new from them in a while? i vote with my wallet and only buy fujifilm.

A Fuji 6 X 7 Folder?

Now that sounds right up my street.

The GS645 is possibly my favourite camera of all.

<------Look there it is! :)

Drool. I would so love a modern 6x7 folder. Can't wait to see some pictures of it...

Grr. I was hoping for 6x6. Rectangles are all over the place, and the Mamiya 6's are getting pretty old nowadays.

Looks like the gods of film may have granted your wish Steve!
Now if only they'd give us back HIE...

Holly $h1T! Did I get a guess/wish right?

Where are the deatails!

I'm only a few hours from Vegas. I wonder if my boss/wife/kids would notice if I did a road trip?

If the camera was non-portable it would be more newsworthy. "Fuji Unveils World's First Stationary MF Camera. Comes With Its Own Concrete Rangefinder Base."

Ha, ha ha, ha!

And have they checked the demand for analogue MF cameras these days? I can see from where I sit in my living room altogether five MF cameras that, if I sold them, I will get only a fraction of what I bought them for. I Fuji launches a new MF camera, stationary or not, they will meet competition from excellent 2.hand gear; Hasselblad, Rollei etc. etc.

Wellcome!

Well it definitely shows that MF is a nostalgia-driven market nowadays. This comes close to Nikon's classic rangefinder reissue which catered to no market except diehard Japanese collectors. If this is the rangefinder market of the future, then there is no market.

I wouldn't necessarily class this as nostalgia. Colleague took his Mamiya 7 with him to Afghanistan where he was embedded. I would think a fair number of photojournalists would be giving this camera a good look. A folder would make it that much easier to take on gear limited trips. I'd be all over this, especially if they made one with a 50.
