I splurged on several Yashica's on Ebay recently and the arrivals are coming in. Received a Yashica-M yesterday...it was simply advertised as a vintage Yashica 35mm and didn't know it was the M until arrival (this camera actually went for $1.00). Everything is functioning correctly and only requires new light seals. The coupled aperture/shutter crossring and EV dial definitely will take some getting used to.
Today, my first GSN arrived and it was truly mint as advertised. I removed the 6V battery from my Bronica, inserted it in the GSN (with the aid of a wad of foil) and at first the over/under exposure lights only flickered. Gently depressed the shutter and changed apertures and it appears that this "self cleaning" of the contacts did the trick and the lights are functioning nicely now under different lighting conditions. Light seals are gone, but the light seal kit from Jon Goodman arrived today, also. I now know how the infamous "klunk" sounds, as this camera exhibited the sound when rewound.
A week ago, I knew absolutely nothing about these cameras until I stumbled upon this forum. Thanks to all for making the information available for novices like me. Now I'm ready to replace seals, load film and fire away!
