New Holga 120 Pan

This is going to be fun.

Currently suffering a severe GAS attack.
Liking 120 much better than 125 going through my library of images and checking the feedback on flicker. Its seems that the worse the camera gets the better the shots are... Perhaps the camera "character" masks my lack of skills as a photographer
Any how I am exited to start playing with this puppy!

As it sits it looks OK...the lens is about the quality of a coke bottle bottom I would bet

I will buy one as soon as I can. Looks like with a little messing about a real lens could be mounted and for just a few hundred or less one could have a home made, very decent 6x12. At the list price one could buy 2 and a hack saw and some glue and make a sweet 6x17 in an afternoon

Its imperfections give the images their character ;-)

I am not sure about the kicking of the mighty x pan. I think there will be issues with film flatness not to mention light leaks etc....All of that can be worked through I hope

I've been using the pinhole version of this camera for a while. They both share the same body. Film flatness is not a huge problem at least with my pinhole shots. The trick is to wind a new frame just before taking a shot. Soft rolls is however a big problem. You shoot a roll and take away the back cover to remove the film roll and you immediately notice the roll is soft. You will get light leaks occasionally. I've taken the habit to remove the roll in a changing bag but understandably it's a bit restrictive.

I'd be curious to see how this compares with Holga/Lomography's 360 (35mm) panoramic camera.

LoL, I'd think light leak and other imperfections would be the charm of this camera People use Holga not because it has more details than a 35mm frame either!
