New house opinions needed

So.....all you home owners out there, would you buy a house with no garage?

Because I live in the south of England and am not a millionaire, no garage is the only option. Luckily, I don't drive.

Thanks for all the opinions. Gotta mull it over. Oh and Rover, the wife doesnt scrape the cars. Usually I do it before she's even awake. :)
Lots to consider, one factor I do worry about is reselling the house without a garage.

Just build a carport before you sell the house, it's ok even with one of those impossibly tight driveway...

I've been living in a house without a garage for 8 years. Now the wife want's a garage and I a Lotus (and a Leica!). It's the chicken and egg dilemma.

But seriously, if the house has a basement and you own a hard top it's not a big deal. As for snow you'd have to dig out your diveway anyway. Might as well dig your car out at the same time.

A garage means you can buy an Italian car and don't worry about rust..

It also means no frozen windshields, locks and handbrake cable in winter..

Finally, it's better than a shed for motorbikes too. Just drive in and out.. I hate lugging that thing around. Dragging 185 Kilos around isn't fun, and what's worse.. it doesn't look 'cool'..

I wouldn't want to be without a garage! We keep our cars in ours for the afore mentioned reasons. I then have a 30' X 48' pole barn for the rest of my toys (yard equipment, pick up, antique tractor & equipment, etc. Makes life good.

So we made an offer on a house this past weekend and the seller just accepted!!!!! Oh, and this house has a garage. Now just gotta do the inspection.

Garage space is much to valuable to waste on a car!

Well said! Where else would you store the John Deere (or 3 in my case)?

Glad to see you went with one with a garage.

I've got a three car garage for sale right now...I'll even throw in the house attached to it.
The commute from AZ might be a bit tough though.

Great! Now all you have to do is build a passageway between the house and garage and you will be all set! :D

hmmm, Im sure I can add that to my project list.
Planning on putting a fence connecting the garage and house to enclose the yard.

yah, there is a very short distance between the garage & house and a fence might be a first step. Then spend a winter going outside to get to the garage and see how you feel... ;)

Good luck with the inspection - house looks great - love that front door! :)

Thanks Peter. The house has some interesting details we want to bring out. On both sides of the front door there are spaces for small glass windows that someone covered over and painted. Also, gonna sand down and refinish around the windows.

On it goes....

On it goes....

So the last house we tried to get(pictured above) fell thru. It needed a whole new roof, had toxic mold in the basement, among other issues.
So we backed out.
We are putting in a bid for another house tonight that we had seen a while ago. It's bank owned and has come down into our price range.
Does have a garage and is in one of the best neigborhoods in the city.

Thanks for listening...stay tuned....
