New IIIF review

Great to read a current review about an old camera. I've had my lllf Red Numbers (maybe we shouldn't say dial then!) since I was 17, my first Leica too.

Its the last camera I'd sell and I'd have to be very desperate to do that!

Reading the review was a hoot, some VERY close to the mark. This one in particular caught my eye.... "The sort of people who love the IIIf are the same sort of people who prefer shooting muzzle loaders and black powder: the results are the same, but you have to do a lot more yourself".

Target shooting with a flint lock rifle is great training for holding a camera steady at slow shutter speeds.

See attached photo. 35mm & 50 cal. ;-)

My present 3f is the loud mouth of the bunch, both m4's are much quieter.

I love the simplicity of LTMs

I love the simplicity of LTMs

I very much enjoy going out for a walk with the IIIf and no meter. It feels soooo different to be REALLY looking at the light and using one's judgement to set aperture and speed. And they're so lovely to boot! 🙂
