I *think* this is an early Ernemann 6x9 folding camera, but the only markings over the camera are DRP and DRGM which are just the German patents marks I thought.

Vario Shutter, Spezial Aplanat lens.

Anyway the original leather was THIN. Like, 0.3mm or something stupid I don't know. Looking very bad too...

Jay's Goatskin is now covering it. I cut the skin a little too short, so it's not covering it as well as I'd like. the paint is still flakey, and some corners need re-sticking. PVA isn't too good!

So hopefully tomorrow I'll sort out all the dodgy corners, fill in the missing paint, and make it look a little nicer overall.

The camera will always be named Ernie, but does anyone know if it is actually some other brand??

Meet Ernies (skin) brothers!

Meet Ernies (skin) brothers!

Great work Ash!

By virtue of sharing a common skin, Ernie is now the brother of two comrade FEDs. They haven't a name though. Ernie should meet his brothers.

Big brother #1= 1948 FED:

And the unfinished brother, a 1935 FED (its winding gear is broken, still waiting for a donor):

Well I was going for the WWI-effect, hoping Ernie would look like something out of an old war film (thats what the colour reminds me of anyway)... but you just put me to shame again - those FED's look really nice!
