Very true. I really want one haha, I have not used a tlr before but really want to :).
 
Is there any reason Instax Mini seems to get all the love? I'd love more control in something that shot Instax Wide. This is a cool concept though and I hope they sell well.

That is *exactly* what I came in here to post! I love the nod to the TLR design but using the mini film is a bit disappointing.

I have the Instax 210 Wide camera and love the larger size film/prints, but I hate that I can't control my exposures with it. I have been using the SP-1 printer with Instax Mini film instead (hooked up to the X100T). What I really want to see is an Instax printer with the same form factor but that takes Instax Wide film. That would be absolutely perfect for me.

Failing that, any [affordable] Instax-compatible camera that actually gives me control of my exposure would be great. Fast-ish lens a major bonus :)
 
I too have the Instax 210. I love the film, but hate the camera. At over $300, I don't see me buying this camera, but i hope that it presages the production of more usable Instax film cameras. Until then, it's the 210 for goofing with instant film and the polaroid back for the RZ67 for more ambitious stuff.
 
I know it's built to fit an existing film-type- but the rectangle format from a square viewfinder/"rollei-square" traditional is a deal-breaker for me.

Otherwise pretty cool!

I think Instax Wide is a bit overlooked due to the size of the cameras needed. The 210 seems as big as a Fuji 6x9. Well, They could put an effort to try to make it as compact as possible.
The lomo belair, if adapted a bit more to the concept of instant, could work quite well (AFAIK some users say the process it has with instax is a bit cumbersome).

The 300 is an "update" of the 210. Neoclassic look, perhaps they solved a quirk or two, but still no manual control, etc.

I'm certain this is true, the size doesn't bother me because I'd rather have the larger picture but I can see how the size would stop a lot of people from considering it. I might have to spring for a Polaroid 180 (or similar) Land camera, but I do enjoy watching the picture develop.

Really? What would be an acceptable price? I think that the price is reasonable actually. Considering a lot of their sx70s go for more and those are just CLA'd $50 cameras.

Bringing a new product to market with r&d involved can't be cheap and has to be considered when setting a msrp.
 
They gave me 80$ for my SX70SE, lol

Love what they are doing for instant cameras, but this TLR does leave you wanting...

I agree also, the Instax 210 is garbage.
Mine refused to push out prints after 2 cassettes.
Exposure was a gamble at best, and focus was hit and miss.
A waste of money, and time, for both Fuji and I.

If I had to do it again, ide skip the Fuji and just grab a regular old Instax back for my Diana+

Yes, indeed Lynn. And I like it a lot. Doesn't stop me wanting a TL70 though. I think the reason Instax mini is all the rage is the size, not of the frame, but the cameras. Pack film polaroid or Instax wide cameras are big, and in TLR form they get very big.

EDIT: Have in mind, had Instax Mini been a negative it would be seen as pretty large. It is quite a bit bigger than 645 (62x46mm vs 56x41.5mm)
