i have been wanting to process my own b/w and E6 film for a long time, but i haven't been in a darkroom since high school 23 years ago!

so i've been watching craigslist for darkroom stuff and recently stumbled onto a jobo CPP-2 with lift for $350. i reluctantly bought it and as i was carrying it into my store my neighbor walked over and said 'gee that's nice, but wouldn't you like to have an automatic processor?' i said yes, and he said he'd bring it by when he had time.

well yesterday he shows up with an ATL-1000 and a big box of tanks and reels! he told me it was to be considered a permanent loan but he couldn't imagine a day when he would want to touch another roll of film! i have always liked this guy, and i talk to him just about every day, but i have to admit that i'm pretty knocked out by his generosity. he also offered me a fujimoto 24" print processor but he said it has to be kept in constant use to be worth the effort of using it.

anyone have any experience with the ATL-1000 or the CPP-2? i have the perfect bathroom space to build a small darkroom for the ATL-1000 but the CPP-2 doesn't fit. i'm ordering some chemistry today, so i should be up and running in a week or so.

I have the CPA-2 (costs a bottle of wine) and upgraded with the last modified Jobo elevator.

In principle a very simple and easy system to develop films and print larger photos.

Also can be less broken because the ATL-machines are much more complicated and Jobo spare parts are expensive.
