All right. Got my film developed and I am glad to say that everything works well. Here are some samples. All shot on expired Kodak 400UC.

strange that someone would remove the sync, more likely the rewind wheel was changed?

the camera is a Kiev II, one of rare Kiev II of 1956.
Usually the Kiev II (without flash sync contact) is between 1950 and 1955. The so-called "export marking" (the name Kiev both in latin and cyrillic) is present (rarely) since 1950.
The IIa with flash sync born in 1956 until 1959.
I never seen until now a Kiev II of 1956. Many compliments!

Hmmm, I would rather say it works fantastic ! Kindly note that you have got a superb lens, which is not always the case, and that the range finder alignment is superb - as shown specially on the dog's face - the hardest test for a camera / lens alignment as well as for the lens quality is at closest distance and widest aperture.

You have a great Kiev !

I'm happy. I'll be shooting a lot more with this camera, and sell my Zorki 3-C. Poor thing doesn't get used much.
