Trying to find someone else who is surprised by this "Made in China" Kodak Max 800-4 film.

Less grain than earlier versions. Cheap, K-Mart prices and processing. Scans well.

Oh well, film is dead. 😛

My late uncle worked for Kodak and spent a great deal of time in China helping them develop their film industry. Even after his retirement Kodak retained him as a consultant to continue working in China...I'll think fondly of this as the fruits of his labor 🙂.

Somebody forgot to change the film box printing then. I do sort of remember something though, like... someone tried to organize the workers..... so they moved the plant to Antarctica........ penguins work "real Cheap" 😉

Not to worry

Not to worry

And, not to worry, if Kodak shut the plant, you can believe the chinese have a "copycat" plant two blocks away ready to go. I love "globalization" 🙂

I was just curious, I read allot of alarmist stuff lately about film and camera manufacturers going out of business which are only half true. So it's good to know when these rumors turn out to be just rumors.

Kodak invested in Lucky and after a few years divested themselves of some of that investment, I believe. That is my recollection, in any event. Whatever, it appears that development of new emulsions may be continuing, which is good news.
