I think that are very good news for film photographers in Montreal and the region around it:
A very nice new lab, film and used film camera shop, and even workshop space and classic darkroom:
Studio Argentique

Wonderful to see that more and more of such nice enthusiast shops dedicated to classic film photography start business.
I wish all of them lots of success.

As you've already been there: Do you like the shop?
Which experiences have you made?

They were not fully operational when I was there, the gallery was mid install, and the lab was in progress, but a nice selection of films and used equipment. I got som HP5 from them, even tho I didn’t have a film camera with me. Didn’t get to visit much as there was some promo film or tv interview going on. Not sure what, my French is atrocious. I shall return tho. We get up there two or three times a year. Tho reading the news this morning makes me wonder how long we’ll be allowed to go to Canada.

Thanks for your report! Sounds interesting.

It's a cool small shop, mostly B/W focused. They process B/W film and can make wet prints. I would not trust them with my colour films as they outsource it and mine came back scratched and dirty! The same CANNOT be said about their B/W work, which I am very happy with.
According to the owner they service the cameras they sell at the store. From what I have seen they in a pretty good operational condition. I have NOT bought any cameras from them, yet...

I know that my English is bad. I am not a native speaker. I am Austrian. Therefore it is not surprising at all that I may make similar mistakes in wording and grammar like other people from Austria, Germany or Switzerland.
I have been here on RFF a "silent reader" for many years, and I have just recently decided to register. Over the years I have realized that thousands of members here have the same main point of interests as I have:
Film, darkroom, classic film cameras, modern film cameras, DSLRs, repair possibilities for older cameras.
Because thousands of other members here have the same or similar main interests as I have was the main reason to register here!
Well, that is generally the main purpose of forums: Bring people with identical interests together.
I will be this month at the worlds biggest photo fair, the Photokina in Cologne.
Just send me a pm and we can look at a time and place to meet there.

Laterna Magica, I for one appreciate your enthusiastic contributions and enjoy your positivity. You are completely correct in assuming that fora are for like-minded people to congenially shoot the breeze about shared interests. Or at least that’s the way it should be.

I will visit Photokina, too. As I have done several times in the past
Interested in a get together?
I currently know of three other rff members who will be there. Maybe we all can have a small rff meeting there
Cheers, Jan
