Hello everyone, just received the M6 & 50mm Nokton a few days ago...
Although large, the Nokton balances well with the M6. My only other lens is a 35mm Skopar so I find myself trying to find the missing tab on this one (the 50). However, it is a joy to use. The Nokton felt well built & sturdy enough for what I would ever use it for... it's not a cron, but it felt durable enough.

I recently sold my R2 to fund the Nokton, but it's just now that I realized how nice the Bessa viewfinders really are! No flare whatsoever... whereas the M6 flares some. Easy fix though... I just put a thin strip of electrical tape across the illumination window & I found that it significantly decreased the flare. The frame lines aren't as bright anymore, but still very usable.

Love this M6. It's nice to get back to simplicity (after shooting exclusively w/ digital for 2 years). It forces me to slow down since there's no chimping with film. Love the heft, feel, smoothness of it... however, it won't be sitting on a pedestal - it was bought to be used & used it will be...

Cheers,
j

J, congratulations on your new gear. Just wanted to let you know that your R2 is doing well here and almost understands that you sold her to finance the M6... 😉

A nice comparison showing favor to both cameras. I too sold an R2 to buy an M6 and am very happy with my choice. That R2 is a hell of a camera though.

Andy, thanks again for a smooth transaction...

Rover, the R2 was a very nice camera. It's just too bad I bought a Fuji S2 DSLR soon after... the Bessa didn't see much use. I finally decided to satisfy my lust for the red dot so off it went...

Cheers folks,
j
