Just bought a Canon Lens 2,8/28mm in good condition to for 220:- euros... - is that a good or a bad buy? (lets hope its not a good-bye)

It also came with a 28mm finder which after a quick test seams to work fine with my elmarit 2,8/21mm. Well, anything is better than guessing...

new lens, angry wife

and the corollary:

happy wife, happy life

My wife is usually pretty good about my gear purchases as I tend to sell stuff as much as I buy, it all lends itself to a perfect balance... that is until a couple of days ago when I picked up this lot... the look on her face was priceless. Guess I'll be selling gear and not buying for a bit now.

terrence that is more D1s and nikon gear than i have ever seen in my entire life, dare i even ask how much you dropped on that? ill bet the look on your wife's face was priceless, then outrageously angry.

The local paper was having a sale of their old gear so I HAD to get the lot. I'm not sure if they even work, some of them look like they've been used as footrests. Most of the lenses work pretty well but I haven't had a chance to try the bodies out as they didn't come with batteries.

I'd admit she got a little anxious until I showed her the receipt. 🙂

Terence,
I'm willing to bet that even if you put them on Ebay one at a time "untested-unknown working condition/ for parts/repair" that you will get about $150 per body. With "tested and Known working, no battery/charger" closer to $250. I paid $600 for a D1 set LNIB on a BIN, so have been watching for a while. Amazing that the price differential on used Digital stuff is not greater.

...cause you chase them with your new lens instead! 😉

Anyway, I think the picture from Terence can come in handy showing our better halves how modest we all are (the rest of us) in our business.

Haven´t had time to try the canon lens yet though, can´t wait to see its drawing (influenced by Sean as I am... )

I love that lens. It's on the camera right now. $220 Euros seems like a fair price if it is a good copy.

Cheers,

Sean
