I have purchased both editions and have been very impressed. More photography and more in depth articles all printed to a fairly high quality.
Definitely a big improvement on the previous weekly version.

I have bought both copies too. It is a big improvement over the weekly version but what a price !

Oh well Michael, as they say "Quality always costs" and it is only once a month 
They will have to maintain the quality (content and reproduction) though to justify it.

I looked through the first one - in W.H.Smith's 'library' and in view of the price, am reserving judgement!.... I remember my enthusiasm for the early editions of 'Black&White' - now.....!

You guys think £6.99 is expensive? You guys are lucky. Here in Switzerland I'd most likely pay around $20-25 for this mag IF it even gets imported. It's a pity they don't offer a subscription of BJP outside the UK. I'd totally be up for that.

Yeah most of the good photo mags in Australia are up around $20-35 (15-28us$)

It's my new favourite mag (taking over from B&W Photography, which has been waning for a long time). I'd pick up maybe 10 copies a year when it was a weekly, when something in the contents page caught my eye. But five minutes with the new format mag and I took up a subscription. The new version is very different, but ultimately gives more space for better and more varied photography. A brave move, and the right move.

I picked up the first new look issue after a recent RFF meet and was very impressed. Good photography printed on quality paper and interesting articles. Must admit to rarely buying the old weekly version. For us in the UK it does seem expensive but then again I've packed in reading all the other 'samey' mags which were costing me a total of much more and only have my subscription to B&W mag now. The new look BJP could well be getting added though.
